Use Orient from your AI assistant
You can find and book Orient mentors from the AI assistant you already use, such as Claude or ChatGPT. Mentors can also answer booking requests and update their weekly hours there.
What you can do
- Find mentors. Describe what you want help with ("a mentor who moved from nursing into UX research"). Orient suggests mentors who fit, with their experience, rating and price.
- See open times. Ask when a mentor is free. Times are shown in your time zone, and only real open slots are offered.
- Book a session. Pick a time and Orient reserves it, then gives you a link to pay on orient-path.ca. Your card is only charged once the mentor accepts.
- Check your sessions. Ask what's coming up or whether a session is confirmed, and get the link to join and to add it to your calendar.
- Leave a review after a session.
- Mentors: see pending requests, accept or decline them, and check or change your weekly hours.
What stays on the website
Paying, cancelling, rescheduling, receipts and your profile all happen on orient-path.ca. Your assistant gives you the link and redirects you to perform those actions.
Connect Orient
Pick your assistant and follow the steps once. It takes about two minutes. When Orient asks you to sign in, use the same Google or LinkedIn account you use on orient-path.ca, then click Allow.
Claude
The Orient plugin works on Claude's paid plans (Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise). On the free plan, follow Other assistants below.
- Download the plugin: Orient for Claude. This saves a file called
orient-claude.zip. Leave it zipped. - Open claude.ai or the Claude desktop app. In the left sidebar, click Customize, then open the Plugins tab.
- Click Add, choose Upload plugin, and select the
orient-claude.zipfile you downloaded. - Open Orient in your plugins list and go to its Connectors tab. Click Connect next to Orient, then sign in and click Allow.
- Start a new chat and try: "Find me a mentor in product management."
Don't skip step 4: without it, Claude has the plugin but can't reach Orient. If Claude says it can't find Orient's tools, go back to the Connectors tab and check that Orient shows as connected.
ChatGPT
- Download the plugin: Orient for ChatGPT. This saves a file called
orient-chatgpt.zip. Leave it zipped. - Go to Plugins page
- Click Add, choose Upload plugin, and select the
orient-chatgpt.zipfile you downloaded. - Open Orient in your plugins and click Connect. Sign in to Orient and click Allow. Adding the plugin doesn't connect Orient for you, and each person in the workspace connects their own Orient account.
- Start a new chat and try: "@Orient find me a mentor in product management."
Other assistants
Any assistant that supports custom MCP connectors can use Orient. Add a connector with this address:
https://orient-path.ca/api/mcp
On Claude's free plan, that's Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector: paste the address, click Add, then Connect.
You can browse mentors without signing in. You only need your Orient account to book or see your sessions.
Privacy
Your assistant only gets what you ask for: public mentor profiles and, after you sign in, your own sessions. Orient never sees your chat history. See our privacy policy.
Disconnect
Go to Settings → Connected assistants in your Orient dashboard and choose Disconnect. This cuts the assistant's access to your account. Removing Orient inside the assistant alone doesn't.
